USES OF WHITE INK PRINTING

White Ink Printing is the modern technique of printing which used widely across the world. One of the benefits of printing with white ink is that it makes it easier to print light colors on dark-colored substrates. With CMYK, printing white on dark paper is impossible. For example, if a client asks for white text on black cardstock, you will have to jump through hoops to deliver. You may have to use a silk screening process to help them achieve the design they want. Other alternatives include a vinyl transfer or even stamping the text.

A clever way to be creative with white ink printing is to use white ink with subtle contrasts. The difference in sheen between the stock and the white ink produces a varnishing effect that makes the outcome look like a watermark.

  • Instantly cured prints for shorter turnarounds and additional cost savings

  • Available in different sizes and print speeds

  • Highest media versatility with unparalleled scratch resistance

  • Prints white along with CMYK and additional color options if desired

There are following things that can be used in white ink printing;

  • Synthetics such as polyester (white, transparent or translucent)

  • Coated and uncoated papers

  • Textured papers

  • Metallic papers

  • Colored papers

  • Adhesive papers

  • Recycled papers

  • Kraft papers

  • Cardboard papers

It is an alternative to expensive printing, designers and customers would create their design with white text on a color background, then print the entire design on white paper or a light substrate. While this was and still is a viable solution, traditional printing doesn’t offer the same vivid look that white ink presents.
