White ink printing is used in the form of spot white. It means white ink will appear as a design of ink because white colour is a light coloured ink . The printer needs to make a layer of the ink up and get a stronger colour. This shows that the colour won't be transparent as compared to the colour card.

History

Its very difficult to print white colour against a dark hued substrate. It is a complicated and very expensive process.

Printing white on a dull paper is incomprehensible with CMYK alone, so if our customers requested white text on a dark cardstock, we'd either need to utilize a silk screening measure, a vinyl move, or perhaps stamp the text, to assist them with accomplishing the plan they were searching for.

Then customers and designers create their white text design on coloured background. When the design has been approved it is then printed on light substrate or white coloured paper . This is the most viable and traditional printing solution as compared to the upper one.
