How Printing Services Has Taken Over The World?

While the history of the printing services has been studied voluminously, its effects on society have received little attention. Elizabeth Eisenstein's book, 'The Printing Press as an Agent of Change', was the first and is still the only comprehensive attempt to study the impact of the printing services by printing press. That was the first ever book on Printing Services in Los Angeles that strongly emphasized that printing services has taken over the script writing and the document or literature in printed form is considered more authentic than in the script form. Many researches provoke her work on printing services and few also found it problematic in some areas. According to one researcher, D.W. Krummel;

"...just as Western civilization was never again the same thanks to the invention of printing services, so our understanding of the invention of printing will never again be the same thanks to Eisenstein's scholarship."

Before Elizabeth Eisenstein's book, people knew about printing services but they were not aware of it's long term impact. One critic also said on her work that;

"What were some of the most important consequences of the shift from script to print? Anticipating a strenuous effort to master a large literature, I began to investigate what had been written on this obviously important subject."

In the light of these words, we can conclude that printing service has changed the conditions under which information was collected, stored, retrieved, criticized, discovered, and promoted. Now we can see that there is continuous and rapid growth in global printing industry and this is because of many reasons, and one of them is that the services provided by print media is essential for every business. Posters, brochures, flyers, business cards, billboard advertisements, etc,  these are just some of the various types of printing services that businesses use for their promotion, and they are indeed effective tools to impress and attract clients. In fact, studies show that most people find printed ads to be less annoying compared to those on the internet. That said, a business that uses printing services has a better chance to make a sale than those who don’t.
