What is Printing?

 The of art of writing or producing images on paper or other materials is called printing kike that of newspaper’ books’ pamphlets’ browsers etc.

Types of printing:

There are many types types of printings that are commonly being used now a days; these are:

Offset printing:

Offset Printing is commonly called as offset lithography printing. This is a great method that produces high volume print runs. In fact, offset printing has the best printing quality amongrest of all the printing methods. It uses plates that run through water and ink for the printing process. The ink will stick to the areas where there are images and text. On the other hand, water will stick to the blank areas or spaces of the plate – where there aren’t any images or text.



Flexography:

Flexography is the method of printing that is used to print grocery and plastic bags and this method was actually introduced in 15th century. this method is used to print vast amount of product surfaces and it is also a fastest growing printing method. The printing process uses flexible plates that are stuck onto a printing cylinder. Flexography is also known as an updated version of the letterpress printing method This method is used to print plastic bags, gift wraps, food packaging, wallpaper, newspaper inserts, magazines, and wallcoverings.

Screen printing:

Screen printing is one of the most resourceful or adaptable printing methods; that is being used today largely. In this method, the ink is transferred to a base – avoiding the areas by blocking them by a stencil so that the ink doesn’t reach such areas which don’t require printing. Screen printing is used for a wide variety of materials such as fabric, glass, plastic, metal, billboards, clothing, and mugs.

Digital printing:

Digital printing is newly developed printing technique that can also called as a modified form of printing and is being used at a large scale in modern era of now a day. The two major printing techniques that are inkjet and xerography are being used in digital printing. Digital printing gives high quality finishing results and you don’t need any plates to apply this technique.
